Natural hair update: it’s been a while since I’ve blogged about my hair and well here I am today one year and i think seven months in. In pervious posts I have mentioned how my hair could be much longer but during my first year since my second big chop I have had multiple hair cuts and dyed my hair a lot. I recently purchased BE-beautiful hair skin and nails pills which I have been taking for almost a week. You can find them at your local GNC stores. I will continue to take the pills throughout the summer. In the past four months I have had a couple protective styles such as box braids and sew ins and I do believe they actually helped with my hair growth. I am currently searching for virgin kinky curly hair for the summer to rest and keep my hair safe during the extremely hot days. I also started using castor oil which can be very thick, sticky, and good to the nose as other hair oils but I fell in love with.meijce using castor oil my hair has gotten I believe thicker in a good way and I believe it grows faster. I will try harder for now on to update monthly about my hair. Sorry for the extreme break. You can also keep up with me on twitter @DanielleDarlynn and instagram @DanielleDarlynn as well. Xoxo

So I still haven’t dyed my hair as planned, and though I have had alot of urges recently Ive decided that I really wasn’t gonna dye my hair again for a long time. Its going on four months since the last time I dyed and my new growth is amazing. While styling my hair about 15 minutes ago I was paying close attention to my hair. And my hair is definitely healthy but the growth hair is completely silkier and ravishing compared to my ends where the dye still exists. I will not be cutting the dye off or any of that I am just letting it grow out and clipping my ends. Nothing about my hair daily process has changed except for the fact that I condition my hair once a week instead of every-night and that I only shampoo my hair once every month and a half. Now that my hair is getting longer its becoming easier to style and maintain without having to wet it everynight. Not to mention I hate wash and gos because my curl pattern is so tight my hair shrinks like crazy. My favorite summer hair do has to be flat twist and bantu knots. I still pin my hair up funky ways and hair accessories are a must. As you have seen in my pictures I hair bows but lately Ive gained a fetish for flowers and feather clips. Well thats all for now ttyl…  Danielle Darlynn @_iamGOLDEN

My one year nappiversary is slowly approaching. But I will not be doing a length check. As I posted earlier in April I will not be using any heat on my hair and a way to help me accomplish this is to protect my hair. Today I went and bought Milky Way Indian Hair 100% Brazilian curl in a 10 and 12 inch. I’m not a huge fan of extensions but this is a way to help me accomplish my goal. I am getting a sew in on Weds and I plan on leaving this hair in for about 2 months and repeating the process until Sept. I think protective styles such as sew ins and braids are key during the summer. Too much sun can cause damage to your ends causing breakage. Not to mention its the summer who doesn’t love swimming ? Pool chemicals and the ocean water causes your hair to dry out and can create split ends. So as it gets hot out, think about your hair. Nothing is more beautiful then a healthy head full of hair. Protect yours or be very strict with your weekly hair treatment.
